June 9 - July 10, 2011
at Zuzak Wonder Store and Online
Last summer Clatter held a silent art auction to help raise money for CD replication. Artwork donations from fans and friends came from as far away as Scotland and included everything from a pop-up book to oil paintings to earrings to spooky Halloween sculptures. Bidding ended on July 10 at 5:00 p.m. CST. The Zuzak Wonder Store
& Art Gallery in Boonville, Missouri donated space to display the artwork, and the items were also listed online. Winners included bidders from Sweden, Edinburgh, and London as well as people across the street from the Zuzak!
You can still view the art gallery of submissions online here.

Clatter & Splatter took over downtown Boonville, Missouri all day Saturday, July 9 with a variety of free art and music events for all ages. Sponsored by Turner Hall River Rats for the Arts, Zuzak Wonder Store, Professional Sound and Lighting, the Boonville Tourism Commission, and Clatter, the event drew attendees from as far away as Florida and Louisiana and by all accounts was a rip-roaring success!

Art events included painting a 2000 Toyota Echo to look like a flower garden, creating food sculptures, drawing portraits for veterans in hospice, and joining in the painting of a community canvas. There was also a photo walk for people interested in taking pictures of the downtown area, and a Plein Air Paint-out, both of which wrapped up with a photo exhibit and Wet Paint Show at Cooper's Oak Winery that afternoon. Refreshments included the food sculptures made earlier in the day!

Aside from the art events, Clatter hosted a variety of music workshops throughout the day. In the morning we hosted a "Rock School for Kids," which was free and open to all ages. In this workshop, we reprised a program we've given at various schools in Indiana in which we describe and demonstrate our instruments and the process of writing and performing music in a rock band.

During the afternoon on Saturday, we hosted individual instrument workshops at the First Presbyterian Church across from Thespian Hall. These relaxed, informal workshops for guitar, bass, and drums were open to anyone who was interested in playing or learning about these instruments, regardless of age or skill level.
On Saturday evening, Clatter celebrated the seventh anniversary of the filming of their concert DVD "Blinded in Boonville" with a free, all-ages concert at Thespian Hall. The concert was filmed, so be on the lookout for some new videos coming soon! We also debuted three new songs that will be on the upcoming album "Garden of Whatever."
